Each year the Midwest Jesuits are blessed and deeply grateful to be included in donors’ estate plans.
Legacy giving, sometimes referred to as planned giving, is a donation made by an individual through a will or a trust, or by a beneficiary designation. Historically, this type of giving has provided a vital source of funds to help promote Jesuit vocations, provide healthcare to senior Jesuits, and create new and innovative ways of serving the greatest needs. Each gift, no matter the size, has helped the Jesuits implement St. Ignatius of Loyola’s vision for more than 500 years.
After providing for your loved ones, we invite you to consider including the Midwest Jesuits in your will or estate plans. Even a small percentage can make a significant impact on continuing the good works of the Jesuits for generations to come.
A bequest is a gift through your will or trust that costs you nothing now but provides support to the Midwest Jesuits after your lifetime. The gift is revocable, which means you can change your mind at any time should your circumstances change. A bequest may be made as a gift of a specific dollar amount, percentage of your estate or residue of your estate. You can also designate your gift for a specific work of the Midwest Jesuits.
Certain types of assets pass outside a will or trust and are gifted by completing a beneficiary designation form. For example, you can designate your retirement assets, life insurance policy, bank accounts and investment funds by completing a simple form provided by your account or asset administrator. Even after you complete the beneficiary designation form, you can take distributions or withdrawals and freely use your account. You can also change your mind at any time, for any reason, and request a new beneficiary designation form to make changes.
