First Vows

On Aug. 10, 2024, four Jesuits pronounced first vows at St. Thomas More Catholic Community in St. Paul, Minn. Jesuits Charles C. Bulger, Thomas J. Hellenbrand, Jonathan M. Jue-Wong and John P. Rosenwinkel pronounced vows of poverty, chastity and obedience, and each received a vow cross from the Society of Jesus. Pronouncing first vows is the culmination of a Jesuit’s two years at the novitiate in St. Paul. There, men in formation further discuss their vocations and learn more about the Society of Jesus, how to pray and how to live in community.
